We have had an interesting summer. It has leaned to the cool and wet side to be sure. Today is the 41st day of below normal readings since June 1st. There have only been 18 ninety-degree days, 10 of those were in June!
July was the 7th coolest on record in Springfield while other locations east of the city ranked much cooler if not coolest.
The rest of this week should stay below normal.

could this be a sign of the upcoming winter? below normal temps and above normal precip?
ReplyDeleteIt could be. El Nino years are not as clear cut for the Ozarks. FYI, I couldn't help it; I used a GFS surface map in the Ceaseless Wind blog on the right!
ReplyDeletewell last time i think me and jill were discussing this but back in 02 03 winter we had a weak el nino and we had some big snows starting in late november ramping up into december and i do remember we had a foot plus snow about i think it was the 23rd of december. funny thing we had a very snowy november and december then bam i think in janurary it warmed up dramatically. I am intrested in what 02s summer was like i need to go and look at what happened in summer of 02. thanks
