RECORD HIGHS ON FRIDAY??

An upper level ridge continues to track eastward and will bring the warmest air of the winter on Thursday and Friday. Record highs are going to be possible across western Missouri on either Thursday or Friday.


Springfield Records:

March 5 82 degrees 1908

March 6 83 degrees 1974


Joplin Records:

March 5 81 degrees 1961

March 6 82 degrees 1974

Thursday Highs: NO RECORDS
Springfield: 75
Joplin: 78
West Plains: 71
Vichy: 77

NORMAL HIGH: 54

  1. hey guys just dropping into say hello. anyways i have noticed something on the models. it is way out there about 2 weeks from now but it keeps popping up. would give us some good snows. anyways it was on the 6z gfs this morning. Could we get one last snow? i guess we will see..

  2. Anything is possible! I think what you might have been seeing is gone already. The models have been all over the place and it's been difficult to find a trend. The next real cool shot looks to arrive next Wed.

  3. Well, if the 12z gfs is to be believed we're looking at big storm after big storm every couple days for the foreseeable future. And they look pretty warm.

  4. Yea, I am seeing an active weather pattern and the systems do appear warm. The first impacts us over the weekend, 2nd on Tuesday and perhaps a 3rd on Thursday and a 4th on the following Monday.

  5. Joplin tied the record on Friday with a high of 82 degrees! West Plains tied the record on Friday with a high of 84 degrees!
